Les médias vont de photographies, reproductions d'oeuvres de musées, plans, vidéos, audio dans le cadre d'archivage ou de valorisation de fonds patrimoniaux.
Aujourd'hui Phraseanet compte une dizaine de bases distinctes et environ 800 utilisateurs actifs.
Les gains sont multiples, allant d'améliorer la qualité des données concernant ces médias, à la capacité de partager de rendre accessibles ces médias en interne ou en accès croisés entre des services communs et des communes.
